NSS Volunteers of Guru Gobind Singh College for Women participated enthusiastically in the Run for Sindhu Marathon organized on 26 April 2026 at Panjab University. Besides participating in the marathon, the volunteers also efficiently performed their assigned duties with great responsibility and dedication. They assisted in the smooth management and successful execution of the event by coordinating participants, guiding runners, and providing support at various checkpoints. Their sincere efforts, discipline, and teamwork reflected the true spirit of NSS and brought laurels to the institution. The event served as a valuable learning experience, strengthening their leadership, organizational, and community service skills.

Prof Karamjeet Singh, Vice Chancellor, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, was the chief guest of the event while the Guest of Honour was GGSCW alumna, Ms Preeti Bhanot, Associate Vice president Supply Chain, Bharti Airtel Limited.
Guru Gobind Singh College for Women, Sector 26, Chandigarh, hosted its Alumni Meet on April 24, 2026, bringing together former students for an evening of reconnection, reflection, and celebration of shared memories. The event began with a warm welcome address by Principal Dr. Jatinder Kaur, setting the tone for the gathering. Alumni from various professional fields shared their journeys and fond recollections of their time at the college. The programme featured vibrant cultural performances, including dance and musical presentations, adding to the festive spirit of the occasion. Filled with warmth and nostalgia, the meet strengthened the lasting bond between the institution and its alumni, concluding on a truly memorable note.
A heartfelt farewell to the graduating Class of 2026, marking not just the close of a cherished chapter, but the dawn of new beginnings, was organized at GGSCW today. The event was thoughtfully curated by the junior batch under the guidance of the Dean, Student Welfare. The ambience beautifully captured a mix of joy and wistfulness, as elegantly dressed students gathered to celebrate memories, friendships, and milestones, making it a day to remember. The morning commenced on a vibrant note with an array of cultural dance performances by the junior batch, featuring Haryanvi, Semi Classical, Bollywood and energetic Bhangra routines that captivated the audience. This was followed by a dazzling ramp walk, where the final-year students took center stage, exuding confidence and grace as they made their memorable last appearance at the College. The Miss GGSCW title was awarded to Wangkheimayum Grija Devi of BCom III , with Akoijam Jesita BA III and Bhoomi BCom III being named First and Second Runners-up, respectively. Similarly, in the hostellers' category, Miss Farewell was awarded to Palak Makhija of BCom III. Sanya Bcom III was named Second Runner-up, and Diya of BCom III secured the First Runner-up position. Principal Dr Jatinder Kaur congratulated the winners and wished the students well in their future endeavors.
A Recycling Craft Workshop followed by a “Best Out of Waste” Competition was organized by Guru Gobind Singh College for Women under the aegis of the Vasudha Club to promote environmental awareness, and encourage creative expression among students on 23rd April 2026. The resource person for the Workshop was Ms. Sonu , an artist with specialisation in Fine Arts. The workshop aimed to sensitize students about the importance of recycling and sustainable living. Participants were guided on how to creatively transform discarded materials such as plastic bottles, newspapers, cardboard, and old fabrics into useful and decorative items. The session was interactive and hands-on, allowing students to explore innovative ideas and techniques. The “Best Out of Waste” Competition was conducted to provide a platform for students to showcase their creativity and environmental consciousness. The participants displayed remarkable ingenuity by converting waste materials into aesthetically appealing and functional products such as pen stands, wall hangings, planters, organizers, and decorative pieces. The entries were judged on the basis of creativity, utility, originality, and eco-friendliness. The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation, reflecting the students’ commitment towards sustainable practices and environmental responsibility. The event successfully instilled the values of resource conservation and highlighted the importance of reducing waste through creative reuse. It also reinforced the message that small individual efforts can collectively contribute to a greener and healthier planet. The workshop and competition concluded with the announcement of winners and appreciation of all participants for their efforts and innovative thinking.
On 20th April, 2026, students of Guru Gobind Singh College for Women, Sector-26, Chandigarh, organized an impactful Anti-Drug Abuse Awareness Rally in Kishangarh to educate the community about the devastating effects of substance abuse. The rally was conducted by the students of RAAHAT society of the college working for community service. Utilising powerful handmade posters and resounding slogans, the students marched through the streets highlighting how drugs damage physical health, destroy families, derail careers, and steal young lives. Through their art and voices, they urged youth to choose dreams over addiction and life over highs, reinforcing the message that a drug-free generation is key to a stronger drug free India.
