GGSCW Volunteers visit to Raipur Khurd Village under Unnat Bharat Abhiyaan

One Day National Webinar on ‘New Avenues in New Education Policy 2020’ was organized by IQAC Cell of Guru Gobind Singh College for Women, Sector 26, Chandigarh. The main objective of the webinar was to enlighten the teachers, students, officials and other stakeholders in the higher education system and to discuss highlights and implications of the New Education Policy (NEP). The possibilities of skill development were also discussed. Dr. Pooja Malhotra of the Department of Commerce and Coordinator of IQAC cell initiated the session by extending a warm welcome to the Keynote Speaker Dr. Rudra Rameshwar, Professor, L.M Thapar School of Management, Patiala and the participants.

Department of Hindi of Guru Gobind Singh College for Women, Sector 26, Chandigarh celebrated Hindi Diwas on September 14, 2020 with great vigor and zeal. To mark this occasion an online intra college poetry recitation competition was organized by Dr. Aradhna Mehtani, Associate Professor of Department of Hindi. The competition involved recitation of poems written by renowned Hindi poets, Maithlisharn Gupta and Makhan Laal Chaturvedi. Around thirty students from colleges across Chandigarh participated in the event. Dr. Jaslene Dhaliwal, Head, Department of English graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. While addressing the students, Dr. Mehtani emphasized on the significance of Hindi as ‘Raj Bhasha’ and explained the difference between ‘Raj Bhasha’ and ‘Rashtrya Bhasha’. Gurmat Vichar Sabha of Guru Gobind Singh College for Women, Sector 26, Chandigarh organized  Shri Sehaj Path on September 5 2020 to seek Almighty’s blessings to mark the commencement of new academic session. The path was organised by Mrs Sukhmeen Kaur and Dr. Surinder Kaur of Punjabi and History department respectively and will be continuously performed by the staff members throughout the session. The Bhog ceremony of Shri Sehaj Path will be held at the end of the academic session. The Principal, Dr. Jatinder Kaur actively participated in the ceremony and motivated the faculty and students to put their best efforts in making this academic session a success.
