Gyankosh: An Interdisciplinary Journal (ISSN : 2581-8252) is an annual publication of Guru Gobind Singh College for Women, Sector - 26, Chandigarh. The journal invites unpublished original articles from research scholars and faculty in the field of Social Sciences, Commerce, Computers and Sciences. Prospective authors are strongly encouraged to write manuscripts and resource essays that deepen a reader’s knowledge of the respective field.
On submission to Gyankosh, the manuscript review will come under the ownership of the journal. It reserves the right to edit the manuscript for grammar, consistency, and clarity without additional permission from the author. No changes will be made by the editors in the content or data. A copy of the edited document will be sent to the author for approval and for clarifications/corrections. The author will be required to respond at the earliest via e-mail.
Acknowledgement of Receipt and Acceptance
We promptly acknowledge receipt of submissions. Although every feature of manuscript and many resource essays are peer reviewed by qualified referees, the editor has the final responsibility for accepting manuscripts for publication. Generally, notice of acceptance or rejection will be sent to the author(s). Once accepted, publication will occur within one month from the date of acceptance.
Authors are encouraged to submit an electronic copy of their manuscript and signed copy of copy right form by an e-mail attachment to the Editorial Office at email@example.com.
The authors are advised to strictly abide by the following format for the submission of their manuscripts. The preferred format is Microsoft Word (Doc or DocX). Files in PDF, RTF, LaTeX, Manuscripts submitted in any other formats will not be accepted.
The Title Page must begin with the title of the manuscript in bold, uppercase, followed by the names of authors in font size 12 and the highest degree obtained by them written next to the names. The name of the organisation, email id, and the departments may be presented in a list. The corresponding author’s affiliation must be accompanied by the complete postal address, email id, and telephone number (office/residence and mobile, if any). Author(s) are advised to send a short bionote comprising of 3-5 sentences/ 75 words to be given at the end of their manuscripts, if accepted for publication.
The abstract should start on a new page. The abstract must be between 150–250 words; having an introduction, the aim of the study, method of the study, results, and a conclusion. Authors have to provide with 3-6 keywords at the end of the abstract. This will be excluded from the abstract’s word count.
Limit of manuscript
The manuscript must be between 2500-3000 words, i.e. 8-12 pages. Longer manuscripts may also be considered by the peer review team at their discretion. The authors have to write the paper in English language in Times New Roman font. The size of the font should be 12 with 1.5 line spacing.
Content of the manuscript
The manuscript must begin with an introduction describing the background and purpose of the study followed by a section on research objectives and methods. Subdivision of these can be done as per the author(s) discretion. The Results and Discussion must be combined. Author(s) must avoid describing the table in the results. Rather, space should be used to explain trends in the data and associate it with their hypothesis. Finally, concluding statements in the Conclusion section should be given.
Illustrations, Table and Figures: We encourage authors to submit photos, maps, relevant tables, and other graphics with their manuscript.
Quotations: Quotations that are three lines or more in length should be indented five spaces from both margins.
Transliteration: Non-English words that appear in any of the Merriam-Webster Dictionaries are acceptable in the contexts. All non English words should be italicized.
Any illustrations, tables, figures, or quotes taken from a previously published source must be used in the manuscript only after due permission has been taken from the original author/copyright holders. The permission must be produced whenever requested for by this journal. Gyankosh and editors will not take any responsibility for a breach in this matter.
References cited in the narrative should be superscripted with numbers. The bibliographic references, with corresponding number should be placed at the end of the manuscript.
Manuscript must follow The Chicago Manual of Style, 16th ed. (Chicago: University of Chicago Press, 2010) or APA.
