Guru Gobind Singh College for Women, Sector 26, Chandigarh held its Annual Prize Distribution Function in Mata Ganga Auditorium on April 16, 2019. Prof. Sanjay Kaushik, Dean College Development Council, Panjab University, Chandigarh was the Honourable Chief Guest for the occasion. S. Gurdev Singh, President and S. Kulbir Singh, Vice President, Sikh Educational Society also graced the occasion with their presence. The function commenced on an auspicious note with the recital of the College Shabad. The Principal, Dr Jatinder Kaur delivered the welcome address and presented the Annual Report of the College, highlighting the achievements of the students in academics, sports and cultural activities.

 

The 550th Prakash Purab of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji was celebrated with great gusto and zeal at GGSCW- 26, on November 08, 2019. The participants from 8 Educational Institutions under the Sikh Educational Society as well as the staff of the college actively participated in the event with a lot of fervor, reverence and admiration. The distinguished chief guest of the celebrations, Prof. Prem Singh Chandumajra, Former Member of Parliament, addressed the audience with his wise words. Sardar Gurdev Singh Brar, President, Sardar Kulbir Singh, Vice President and Col. (Rtd) Jasmer Singh Bala, Secretary, Sikh Educational Society graced the occasion with their valuable presence. The celebration began with Shabad gaayan, followed by many presentations of Folk orchestra, Lok Geet, Luddi, Giddha and Bhangra from various colleges in Punjab but the main attraction was the Sound and Light show presented by the students of the College dedicated on the life and teachings of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. On this revered occasion, the College also released an online special issue of its E-Journal ‘GYANKOSH’ dedicated to Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. GMCH-32, Chandigarh collaborated with the College and conducted a health checkup for women. Dr. Jatinder Kaur, Principal while addressing the student emphasized the importance of the teachings and preachings of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji and motivated them to imbibe those teachings in their daily lives. She also inspired them to follow the principle of “Kirat karo, Naam Japo, Vand chhako” and also encouraged the students to lead simple and virtuous lives.
GGSCW-26, Chandigarh is celebrating the 550th Prakash Purab of “Jagat-Guru”- Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji on November 08, 2019 in the College. The Event will commence at 10:30 am. All the students and staff members are invited to attend the same.
Vigilance Awareness Week (28th Oct- 02 Nov, 2019) was celebrated in the College. Integrity Pledge was administrated to the students and faculty members, affirming their commitment to eradicate corruption and uphold the highest standards of ethical conduct. A poster making competition was also held and prizes were given. Vasudha of BA-I delivered a talk on the occasion, highlighting the extent of this evil in our society. The Principal, Dr. Jatinder Kaur, applauded the efforts of the students and inspired them to prevent and combat corruption at the grass root level.
