A NAAC-sponsored National Seminar on ‘CATERING TO THE GLOBAL LEARNER: QUALITY ENHANCEMENT IN HIGHER EDUCATION’ was organized by the Post Graduate Department of English of Guru Gobind Singh College for Women, Sector-26, Chandigarh, in collaboration with Internal Quality Assurance Cell on November 22, 2018 in Mata Ganga Auditorium.

To mark the 550 th birth anniversary of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji , Gurmat Vichar Society  joined the “City Nagar Kirtan “ on November 21, 2018. 55 students accompanied by 4 faculty members participated in the Nagar Kirtan enthusiastically.

As part of Road Safety Festomania - 2018, a workshop on Road Safety was organized in Guru Gobind Singh College for Women, Sector 26, Chandigarh on November 19, 2018. The students were educated on the importance of following the traffic rules not only to avoid penalties but for the sake of their own and others’ safety.  The resource person, Ms. Parul from Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt. Ltd., explained the various reasons of road accidents and stressed on the need to observe traffic rules in order to reduce the number of casualties on the road. It has been statistically shown that during the past 5 years the number of fatalities and injuries associated with road accidents are steadily increasing, which is largely due to ignorance of safety measures and non- adherence to traffic rules. Legal Literacy Club of GGSCW-26, Chandigarh organized a talk on “Cyber Crime with Special Reference to Women”. The Guest Spokesperson Dr. Supinder Kaur, Department of Law, P.U., Chandigarh, spoke on the various ills that prevails the Cyber World. She quoted laws and gave remedies also. The Students participated enthusiastically. Principal, Dr. Jatinder Kaur, appreciated the efforts towards making women aware of their rights.
