On July 31, 2019, Prem Chand Jayanti was celebrated in Guru Gobind Singh College for Women, Sector-26, Chandigarh. The event was coordinated by Dr. Aradhana Mehtani, Associate Professor, Hindi Department and presided over by the Principal, Dr. Jatinder Kaur. On this occasion, students were involved in group discussion. A movie on the story ‘Buddi Kaki’ by the famous author was screened for the students.

 The Inaugural Function of Guru Gobind Singh College for Women, Sector-26, Chandigarh was held today,31st July,2019, in Mata Ganga Auditorium seeking the blessings of God Almighty, for the new Academic Session 2019-20. Gurbani and Shabad Kirtan was recited by Raagi Jatha Bhai Inderpal Singh Ji Chandigarh Wale.

The Principal, Dr. Jatinder Kaur formally welcomed the students and emphasized upon the college motto of “Shubh Karman Te Kabhu Na Taro”. She urged them to follow the path of self-righteousness. She also highlighted the achievements of the College and motivated the students to strive for excellence in all academic as well as extracurricular activities. She assured the students, that the College will help them to fulfil their dreams and ambitions and lead them to the path of glory. 

Guru Gobind Singh College for Women, Sector-26, Chandigarh is celebrating "AKSHAY URJA DIWAS" on August 19, 2019  organised by Environment Society- VASUDHA sponosored by Chandigarh Renewal Energy, Science & Technology Promotion Society (CREST), Chandigarh Administration.

The College Prospectus of Guru Gobind Singh College for Women, Sector-26, Chandigarh for the Session 2019-20 was released by the College Principal, Dr Jatinder Kaur on May 17, 2019. The Prospectus is available on College Website,  for Online Admission to Non-Centralised courses,   (BA, MA-English, MA-Sociology, MA-Economics and M.Sc-IT) for the coming Session.


Guru Gobind Singh College for Women, Sector 26, Chandigarh held its Annual Prize Distribution Function in Mata Ganga Auditorium on April 16, 2019. Prof. Sanjay Kaushik, Dean College Development Council, Panjab University, Chandigarh was the Honourable Chief Guest for the occasion. S. Gurdev Singh, President and S. Kulbir Singh, Vice President, Sikh Educational Society also graced the occasion with their presence. The function commenced on an auspicious note with the recital of the College Shabad. The Principal, Dr Jatinder Kaur delivered the welcome address and presented the Annual Report of the College, highlighting the achievements of the students in academics, sports and cultural activities.


Vibrant hues of beauty and glamour adorned the campus of Guru Gobind Singh College for Women, Sector-26, Chandigarh, as the students looked charming and stunning, dressed in their best attire, on the occasion of the ‘Freshers’ Party’ to welcome the new entrants, on 14th Aug, 2019. The eves looked gorgeous and graceful, enhancing the ambience.

The event commenced with the dance performances followed by the fashion- pageant. The performances were delightful and captivated the audience. The young performers were encouraged and supported by their seniors.


The festival of Teej was in full swing at Guru Gobind Singh College for Women, Sector-26, Chandigarh, as the students and the staff celebrated it with great zeal and fervor. The students were dressed in the Indian traditional outfits, portraying the essence of the festival.

Students, enthusiastically, participated in Miss Teej, Mehandi, Miss Sohni Mutiaar, Miss Punjaban Competition and the major attraction amongst all was the beautiful floral-adorned “Peengh” (swing) with a nostalgic flight.

Nandini Shines and made it to the Indian Women Squad in the 81 Kg weight category for the AIBA Women's World Boxing Championship to be held in Russia in October. In the selection trials held at Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium here on thursday, Nandini outlasted Lalfakmawi to seal her berth in the 10-member squad.
