A RUSA-Sponsored Capacity Building Workshop on ‘Google Classroom’ was organized by the College Library of Guru Gobind Singh College for Women, Sector 26, Chandigarh on March 20, 2019. Dr Preeti Sharda, Librarian, Regional Institute of English, Chandigarh, the Resource Person for the workshop, provided valuable guidance in the use of the Google Classroom app to the faculty and students of the college.

Google Classroom is a free web-based platform that integrates all Google Apps including Google Docs, Gmail, etc. It is a Course Management System that facilitates teacher-student communication. It provides teachers with a platform where they can create a virtual classroom and share useful study material, give assignments, conduct tests, quizzes and surveys and evaluate the work of students in real time.

The Department of Music of Guru Gobind Singh College for Women, Sector 26, Chandigarh organized ‘Gurmat Sangeet Samagam’ under the aegis of Sikh Educational Society on March 18, 2019 in Mata Ganga Auditorium to celebrate the 550th Birth Anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. The occasion was graced by Zinda Shaheed Singh Saheb Jathedar Sant Baba Nihal Singh Ji, Mukhi, Misal Shaheeda Tarna Dal, Harianvela Wale, who was the Chief Guest and Prof Pankaj Mala Sharma, Former Chairperson and Dean, Department of Music, Panjab University, Chandigarh as the Guest of Honour. S. Gurdev Singh, President, S.E.S and Col. (Retd.) J. S. Bala, Secretary, S.E.S elevated the event with their esteemed presence.

Guru Gobind Singh College for Women, Sector 26, Chandigarh held its Annual Prize Distribution Function in Mata Ganga Auditorium on April 16, 2019. Prof. Sanjay Kaushik, Dean College Development Council, Panjab University, Chandigarh was the Honourable Chief Guest for the occasion. S. Gurdev Singh, President and S. Kulbir Singh, Vice President, Sikh Educational Society also graced the occasion with their presence. The function commenced on an auspicious note with the recital of the College Shabad. The Principal, Dr Jatinder Kaur delivered the welcome address and presented the Annual Report of the College, highlighting the achievements of the students in academics, sports and cultural activities.
